What is Tribe?

Tribe is a super friendly and welcoming Edinburgh-based yoga and fitness company. Our four studios are situated around the City of Edinburgh and offer more than 200 classes per week in South Edinburgh (Tribe Quartermile), East Edinburgh (Tribe Leith Walk) & North Edinburgh (Tribe New Town & Tribe Stockbridge)

We’re dedicated to creating tribes and communities that bring yoga and fitness to anyone seeking a healthy and balanced life. We believe that through movement, we ultimately create happier, healthier people; connected to themselves and others.

Our classes range from relaxing and restorative to aerobic and powerful. Each class is guided by one of our expert teachers, who are here to provide you with an exceptional experience.

It doesn’t matter if you are new to fitness or have an existing practice, we will help you find something right for you.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A CLASS?

Please remember to drink enough water before, during (small sips), and after class. Hydration is very important.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

Make sure you’ve had a meal a few hours before class. If you’re hungry just before class, stick to a light snack like fruit or crackers.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Form-fitting clothing that won’t interfere with movement would be best. Think: t-shirts, singlets, shorts and leggings, preferably made from moisture-wicking fabric.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING ELSE?

We provide mats and any props you will need in class. However, if you would prefer to use your own mat, please feel free to bring it and use that instead. We provide free sweat towels at all our studios and you can rent mat and shower towels from reception for £1 at all studios with shower facilities.

For or cycle classes, we do not provide cleats, so please wear trainers to these classes. If you prefer riding in cleats, you’re welcome to bring your own. Our bikes are compatible with SPD 2 Pin cleats.

Please bring your own water bottle to keep yourself hydrated during and after class.

Your items can be safely stored in a locker during class and our reception staff is there to provide you with any assistance needed.

WHEN SHOULD I GET THERE?

We do not admit clients into a class once it has begun so please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get changed and settled. We advise you arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time listed so you do not feeling rushed or stressed.

CHECK-IN

Book your class online and check-in for your class with the receptionist on arrival.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

We encourage first-time visitors to introduce themselves to the teacher and take a mat in either the second or third row from the front so the teacher can give you any assistance should you require it.

I’M PREGNANT. IS IT OK TO COME TO TRIBE?

Firstly congratulations! Movement is an excellent way to keep healthy during your pregnancy. We would always recommend dedicated pregnancy classes. Whilst regular classes can be excellent, they can also be dangerous if they’re not adapted to pregnancy, as such, we generally do not allow attendance to our non-pregnancy classes without a waiver/acknowledgement of these risks. For more information on practicing whilst pregnant and our policy, please click here.

HELP ME! I’M STILL NERVOUS!

Whilst we completely understand it’s slightly nerve-wracking to try anything new, there is really no need to worry. If you want to come into our studios before signing up or trying, please do and we’ll chat about everything you need to know and talk through any concerns you may have.

Yoga is not for skinny, flexible, wealthy people. It is for absolutely everybody! Everyone can benefit from one of the different types of yoga or fitness classes we offer. If you want to talk to us in more detail or have any other questions, please pop-in or email us on [email protected].
